 French President Nicolas Sarkozy published on Sunday on his Facebook page that he participated in the demolition of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago, but the French media conducted an investigation and concluded that probably not telling the truth.
"On the morning of November 9, we saw the news from Berlin that divided the German capital city stores change," Sarkozy wrote. "Alain Juppé and now I have moved to Berlin, we wanted to participate in the changes," added the French president.
Former RPR party secretary general and deputy mayor of Paris Jupp and Sarkozy are in the evening arrived in Berlin to the Brandenburg Gate and would later move to the east side of town and broke off pieces of the wall.

Le Figaro in its news archives found that Jupp that day was on one reception in Paris. There is also a recording in which Jupp commented fall of the wall the day after its capture and destruction does not mention that the night before was in Berlin. On Monday, he said Jupp not remember exactly.
Sarkozy's office remained despite the story that the president was in Berlin on 9th November Sarkozy said it was quite by chance ran into the wall next to the young François Fillon, the prime minister today. There is also a photograph where the young Sarkozy sees the wall, but there is doubt about the date of the recorded images.
Francois Fillon has confirmed that he met that evening and a young politician Alain Madeline which caused even more confusion because the Madeline said he was in Berlin the day after the demolition of the wall, or even later, according to French media.
In France, this has raised a lot of dust because French citizens believe that the president once again want to dominate the news and draw attention to himself.
